Germain Larivière: Installation of pallet racking for a furniture and appliance warehouse
AGIR Installation carried out the assembly of pallet racking in a Germain Larivière warehouse, a Quebec retailer specializing in furniture, appliances, and mattresses.
The project involved fitting out long rows of metal structures to make use of the available height for storage. The installation includes blue frames and grey beams arranged across several levels, with configurations that vary by section.
This project showcases our expertise in assembling large-scale storage systems. The layout of the structures, the traffic areas, and the organization of work at height were central to carrying out the mandate.
Making use of height while preserving access and traffic flow
Installing a large number of pallet racks required precise layout within a building featuring several columns and large areas to fit out.
The challenge was to maintain even rows and correct positioning of the storage levels along the full length of the installation. Clearances needed for traffic and access to the different sections of the warehouse also had to be accounted for.
Assembling at height added an organizational challenge. Components had to be distributed across the work areas to allow for handling and the movement of aerial work platforms as the structures were put in place.
The solutionA progressive assembly of multi-level pallet racking
AGIR Installation carried out the assembly of the frames and installed the beams that form the different storage levels.
Preparing the components on the ground and progressively assembling the rows helped structure the pace of the work. Aerial work platforms were used to access the upper parts of the pallet racking during installation.
The resulting layout distributes storage locations at height and organizes the rows within the building. Yellow guards are also visible at the base of certain row ends.
This project illustrates AGIR Installation's ability to carry out the assembly of large-scale storage structures, in an environment intended for the distribution of home goods.
