BMR: Installation of cantilever racking for outdoor material storage

AGIR Installation carried out the assembly of cantilever racking for BMR, in an environment intended for the storage of construction materials.

The photographed installations include a long row of grey structures set up in a materials yard, as well as structures with blue columns and orange arms arranged along a building, under a roof overhang.

The cantilever arms create several storage levels while keeping the face accessible for handling long materials. The columns are connected by horizontal elements and bracing, and their bases rest on concrete surfaces.

This project showcases AGIR Installation's expertise in assembling outdoor storage structures, where the length of the rows and the repetition of the assemblies demand precise execution.

The challenge

Maintaining alignment across long outdoor rows

Assembling these structures required careful attention to base positioning, column alignment, and consistency of arm levels along the full length of the rows. The installation also had to account for available concrete surfaces, traffic areas, and materials stored nearby. In the section running along the building, the layout of the structures had to fit within the space under the roof overhang. Handling the components was another challenge on site. The columns, bracing, and arms had to be arranged to make assembly easier, while still allowing access for forklifts and work platforms.

The solution

A progressive assembly of columns, bracing, and arms

AGIR Installation carried out the assembly of the bases and columns, then installed the connecting elements and bracing that make up the rows. The photographed steps show the structures before and after the cantilever arms were added. This progression illustrates the assembly work, from the first columns to the sections fitted with their storage levels. Crews worked from the ground and from aerial work platforms to access the assembly points. A forklift was also present during the assembly operations. The resulting layout distributes storage space across several levels while keeping a clear face in front of the arms. This configuration suits the storage of long materials and makes use of the available height in outdoor areas. The project illustrates AGIR Installation's ability to coordinate the assembly of long cantilever structures in a materials yard environment.
